Movie Review: Jet Li - Hero

July 19th, 2007

I’m surprised at how long it took me to finally get the chance to watch this masterpiece. I was thoroughly impressed by it as a film in general. The action sequences were spectacular, but the true essence of the movie lied in it’s storyline. It’s one of the movies that you watch that make you want to do something. It teaches you a lesson, one that rings true in life and gives you that “Ah hah! I understand” feeling.

One of the things that this movie alone teaches is selflessness, which today is both overrated, and underrated at the same time. It is impossible to be truly selfless, because human beings instinctively want and need to look after themselves. Society on the other hand, believes that you should live to serve others — that’s the most “enlightened” way. The answer is balance.

All in all, this film taught me a lot, as well as gave me an incredible message as to how a film should be. I’m beginning to see a pattern to Jet Li movies — they are freaking awesome.

A review of Jack, and his blog: Life With Google

May 27th, 2007

Jack from Life with Google blogs about adsense, tricks with SEO (black hat and all) and generally tips about how to make money online.

Now, black hat is something I generally know to be using dirty tricks to get up into page rank, that google doesn’t like. I feel it’s necessary to know these tricks, but to weigh the consequences when choosing to do so. You don’t want to get banned for something trivial.

Jack’s blog is pretty useful if you’re into the affiliate marketing and PPC game like I am. He offers easy to read tips and advice to optimize your site as well as ads.

It’s definitely worth checking out, I definately learned a thing or two browsing his site.

Review: John Waraas dot com

May 11th, 2007

Jon Waraas is a 20 year old online publisher that makes money at home. He’s one of the self-made guys that started out building websites for fun, and then later decided that he liked it a lot. He went from a dead-end boring job that he hated to making money at home running websites.

In a lot of ways, he’s what I’d like to become — someone who makes money solely off things that he creates and not working for somebody else.
