A vending machine business

September 10th, 2007

I was reading about this about how to start a vending machine business.

Basically, what you do is you go on either Craigslist or Ebay and you start small, buying one or a few machines at time and cold call to see if people will let you put it on their space.

It’s a pretty easy way to make a little bit of change on the side, but sometimes the work doesn’t seem to be worth it. The machines will make you about $25 a month, but will take time out of your schedule so it’s not perfectly passive. However, if you can find someone trustworthy to delegate that job to, you can make it just a little bit more passive.

Be aware that money can hinder relationships between family and friends, however — so it is important who you trust to collect for your machines. It’s also nice to give them a good chunk of it as well, as they are doing all the work.
