Whatever I Feel Like Writing About

What is John Chow dot com?

It’s a blog about all sorts of helpful things such as reviews about all sorts of things such as tips on helping you improve your blog, tips about finance and information about cool new stuff. It’s one of the few blogs I never mind reading because others feel too long winded and boring.

I heard about his site from a forums I visit often (2+2 Publishing), and decided to give it a look. After all, most viral marketing that isn’t self promotion tend to be pretty good and 2+2 members tend to be slightly above average people in terms of t3h smartz. I was captured by John Chow’s website as it was simple and had mountainloads of useful information as well as funny anecdotes worth reading about. He once randomly started a big dance and turned out just a mere $50 profit while his brother made over $300 from hanging coats! That was a fun read.

John Chow and I have a lot in common; we both blog, we’re both Chinese (lol AzN PrYdE), we both like fast cars (Corvettes, Pagani Zondas, except he can afford them =P), and he enjoys helping the community! I… kind of like helping the community! Oh, did I mention he likes to call himself evil? He does!

So evil in fact, he’s donating his earnings to a local church. Joking aside, I think that’s really cool and one of the things that I want to do eventually — give back to the community. After all, there’s only so much you can buy before you have everything (or not, people are inherently greedy…) and then it’s time to give back to the community that helped you get to where you are. Unless of course… it didn’t then uhm… You should give to the community so as to give them a chance you never had =].

John lives in Canada has a successful business. He’s a smart marketer and his blogging now earns him over $7,000 a month. That’s no small figure. And to think he did this all from blogging for only a year and a few months… It feels like a zero-to-Hero story in blog form and is quite inspirational, and that’s why it’s the first blog that comes to mind when I think of the word. His blog is definately worth checking out if you’ve got the extra time, you’ll learn something while you have fun reading some fun posts.
