Maintaining a steady stream of “ambition”
“I think it’d be better if you were consistently hard working as opposed to having spikes in ambition and hard work” is along the lines of what my older brother said to me one time that really stuck to me.
The reason I believe that that happens is because I’m a really emotion-based person and also because I’m not very organized. If I had a to-do list (Getting Things Done) and knew exactly what I needed to do each day, it would definitely help.
Without it, I’ve noticed that a lot of days all I want to do is just read about the NBA when I know I should be doing something else, but I don’t know what.
I’ll also want to study mechanical engineering after watching Iron Man because I think it would be really cool to make my own suit of armor, except make it so that I could control the suit from far away so I don’t risk dying.
I’m very risk averse when it comes to health and well being, but much more of a gambler when it comes to money. Money comes and goes, but you only have one life.
