What I learned about snowboarding

March 31st, 2007

I went with my brother’s friends to Lake Tahoe on Friday, they gave me a couple of good pointers and tips to tear up the mountain. I’ve gone once before, but myexperiences were limited to falling down the mountain several times. Since then, I’ve learned a couple of things.

    • Go to the bathroom before hand. You don’t want to have to go while up there.
    • Keep your weight forward, always. Otherwise, you’ll fall. Also, it’s hard to steer with your weight in the back.
    • Keep your knees bent.
    • Don’t go faster than what you’re used to.
    • Keep on the edges of the board.
    • Keep hydrated.
    • Boreal has 10$ fridays (you can use the lift all day on fridays for only 10$).
    • Wear sunscreen and chapstick, the sun reflects off the ice and you can get burned.
    • Don’t wear too much, it can get really hot when the sun is out.
    • If you are going fast enough, you cut across bumps like a knife.
